Let me share with you this fun activity for teaching Present Simple Tense to young learners:
Step 1: Print outlines of T-shirt shapes with the letter S written on each.
Step 2: Print one bigger T-shirt. Color it and laminate it with transparent cover.
Step 3: Print outlines of a girl, boy and a cat or any other animal.
Step 4: Tell your pupils the story of the S T-shirt while holding the big one in your hand. It's a magical T-shirt that only third person singular can put it on. But, when does he/she/it wear it? When it's present simple time; it's when one talks about the things they always/usually/never do!
Step 5: Before you hand out the printed shapes, explain to your pupils that they should color their T-shirts and outlines, and then stick the T-shirt on the person or animal.
Step 6: Elicit examples so that each pupil raises her colorful art up and say a sentence about it.
Step 7: Bring a chart and, in groups, let them stick their colorful art next to their sentences. Hang it!
They will never forget the "S".Marwa_Madkour
