About Hamlet 1

Of all Shakespeare's masterpieces, "Hamlet", his longest play ever, is my favorite.

"O that this too, too solid flesh would melt,
Thaw, and resolve itself into a dew!”

One cannot help but feel a pang of sympathy or even empathy for Hamlet. As far as I am concerned, he represents grief and depression; his ongoing overthinking and outspoken death wish revel this. He wishes his body could melt and turn into water or in other words to vanish so that he doesn't commit suicide; that sinful action, he wishes it wasn't forbidden by God.

Moreover, he embodies restlessness and uncertainty due to being caught in a real dilemma which has affected his mind and heart negatively. Thus, his faith in women has been shaken and in his fake insanity has been too cruel to the one girl he loved the most. I believe his desire for a righteous revenge has left no room for anything else.

Hamlet, he is undoubtedly the prince of melancholy!
